The IROC (International Race of Champions) series made its return as a support race — bringing together IndyCar legends Helio Castroneves, Dario Franchitti, and Tony Kanaan alongside NASCAR legends Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Bobby Labonte, Rusty Wallace, and Bill Elliott in identical Pontiac Firebirds.
